South Alabama (7-2) extended its win streak to six games with the victory, and will attempt to sweep its second consecutive weekend series in Sunday's finale. The Jaguars faced a 3-0 deficit after 2 1/2 innings, but sent 11 batters to the plate in their seven-run inning to take a 7-3 lead. Five runs in the fifth inning pushed the USA lead to 12-3, and the Jags added four runs over their final two at-bats.

South Alabama will return to action Sunday when it hosts Middle Tennessee at 1 p.m. in the series finale at Stanky Field.

GAME FACTS
- Middle Tennessee jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a one-out, two-run home run to left field by Brett Coker.
- The Blue Raiders pushed their lead to 3-0 in the top of the third on a two-out RBI single down the left field line by Mason Speirs that scored Fausto Lopez, who singled to center field to lead off the inning.
- Will Turner singled to left field with one out in the bottom of the third, and moved to second on a wild pitch. Cameron Tissue followed with an RBI single to center field to plate Turner and cut the MT lead to 3-1. Miles Simington then singled to left field before a passed ball allowed both runners to move into scoring position with one out. Charles Middleton popped up to shortstop for the second out of the frame before a two-out walk by Hunter Stokes loaded the bases. Erick Orbeta then reached on a fielding error by Blue Raider second baseman JT Mabry that allowed Tissue and Simington to tie the score 3-3. Santi Montiel then reached on a fielding error by Lopez at shortstop to score Stokes for a 4-3 Jaguar lead. Joseph Sullivan then lifted an 0-1 pitch from Blue Raider right-hander Eriq Swan over the right field wall for a three-run home run – the first of his Jaguar career – for a 7-3 Jaguar lead.
- Middle Tennessee loaded the bases in the top of the fourth on a leadoff single by Mabry, Tatsunori Negishi reached on a fielding error by Orbeta on a grounder to second and Luke Vinson reached on a two-out bunt single. But Jaguar right-hander Matt Boswell induced an inning-ending flyout to right-center field off the bat of Lopez to end the threat.
- Stokes drew a leadoff walk in the bottom of the fifth, and later scored on an RBI groundout to second by Sullivan for an 8-3 South Alabama advantage. Reid Powers reached on a hit by pitch before Turner laced a two-run double down the first base line that deflected off of Blue Raider first baseman Wyatt Morgan for a 10-3 Jaguar lead. Tissue followed with an RBI double to right field to score Turner for an 11-3 lead. Simington then delivered an RBI double down the right field line to plate Tissue for a 12-3 advantage.
- A one-out RBI single to right field by Hunter Donaldson in the bottom of the seventh scored Bailee Hendon, who singled earlier in the inning, for a 13-3 Jag lead.
- USA added the final three runs of the game in the bottom of the eighth on an RBI single by Tissue and two-run double to right-center by Donaldson.

NOTES
- Middleton extended his on-base streak to nine games when he reached on a hit by pitch with two outs in the bottom of the first.
- Simington extended his hitting streak to nine games with a one-out single to left field in the bottom of the third.
- Sullivan's third-inning home run marked the first of his collegiate career, and the second Jaguar home run this season.
- Hendon recorded his first career hit as a Jaguar in the form of a pinch-hit single to right field in the bottom of the seventh.
- Right-hander Jake Glenn made his first appearance as a Jaguar in a relief spot in the top of the ninth.
- Tissue tied career highs in hits (3) and RBIs (4), finishing 3-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and three runs scored to lead the Jaguar offense. Turner finished 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored, Donaldson went 2-for-2 with a double and career-high three RBIs, Simington had two hits, including a double, one RBI and one run scored and Sullivan added a home run, a career-high four RBIs and one run scored.

- South Alabama's 16 runs marked a new season high, surpassing its total of 15 runs against Rhode Island on Feb. 25.

Head Coach Mark Calvi
- On the seven-run third inning:
"I think we saw 26 pitches with two outs in the third. They (Middle Tennessee) made a couple of errors, but we forced the issue. I thought our guys did a nice job of playing all three outs in that inning, and we were able to tack on and it stood up from there."

- On Cameron Tissue:
"He was really good. Landon Jordan's arm was a little sore, and I thought Cam came in and did an outstanding job. He did it last year for us as well; he moved around and came off the bench some and started most of the year. But he was really good today. He can play shortstop, second or third, and did a really nice job coming off the bench. His RBI to right-center in his first at-bat kind of got us going. He was huge today for us."

- On Matt Boswell:
"He had really good stuff and was up to 95 (mph). (Brett) Coker hit that ball to the moon, and I give him credit; it was a good pitch. He was just missing middle a little bit and they got the bat to him, but he also came up with some big pitches. I thought Boz made enough pitches today to get us through it. He did a really nice job today."

Left fielder Joseph Sullivan
- On his home run:
"It was one of the best moments of my life so far, and there's more to come so we'll see. Facing a guy throwing 95-97, you kind of just have to react to it. He (MT starter Eriq Swan) threw a changeup and I just got the bat head out."

Third baseman Cameron Tissue
- On his performance:
"With this caliber of a team, everyone has to always be ready. You never know what is going to happen. We're all praying for Landon (Jordan) that his arm is OK and he has a good recovery; he is a big key to this team. You just have to stay ready at all times, and thankfully I was ready and it all worked out."
