A SOUTH ALABAMA WIN VS. NICHOLLS WOULD...    
– Extend South Alabama's win streak to five games.
– Be the program's 214th win at Jaguar Field.

SOUTH ALABAMA JAGUARS    
– South Alabama (9-13, 3-0 SBC) enters the midweek contest versus Nicholls State after sweeping UT Arlington over the weekend. 
– The Jags' 10-0 victory over the Mavericks in the Sunday finale marked their fourth straight win.
– Mackenzie Brasher leads the team with a .317 batting average and her nine stolen bases are tied for fourth in the conference.
– Brasher also has a team-best four multi-hit games this spring.
– Victoria Ortiz paces the club with 10 extra-base hits and is second with 10 RBI.
– Her six doubles are tied for second-most in the Sun Belt coming into the week, and she sit just outside the top 10 of the league in homers.
– All four of her home runs have come in three of her last four.
– Ortiz also has a team-high four multi-RBI outings and drove in five in the UTA series.
– Abby Allen has reached base safely in 18 straight, which is tied for 14th-longest streak in program history. 
– Allen and leads the team with 16 walks, 14 of which have come during the stretch.
– One of the hottest hitters at the plate over the last several games has been Belle Wolfenden. 
– Wolfenden enters the game against the Colonels with a six-game hit streak, and during that span she has gone 9-for-15 at the plate (.600) while walking three times and driving in four.
– Freshman Gabby Stagner and junior pitcher were named the Sun Belt Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively on Tuesday.
– Stagner drove in 10 runs at against the Mavs while also recording two grand slams in the series.
– South has been led in the circle by Olivia Lackie and Hardy.
– Lackie (5-3) holds a 2.26 earned run average in her 49.2 innings of work. She has struck out 66 and is holding opponents to a .144 batting average.
– She has gone the distance in four of her six starts and holds three shut outs. 
– In the series opener against UTA, Lackie tossed her second career no-hitter as she struck out 10 and had two or more strikeouts in four of her five innings of work.
– Hardy picked up a pair of wins against the Mavericks and didn't allow a run in her 12 innings of work, while scattering eight hits.
– Hardy's four-hit shutout on Sunday was the first of her career and of her 21 outs recorded in the contest, 14 came on the ground.
– Hardy holds a 2.73 ERA and has issued just 12 walks in 64 innings in the circle.

THE SERIES VS. NICHOLLS    
– South Alabama and Nicholls have met 20 previous times in the all-time series with the Jaguars holding a 14-6 lead.
– South has won 12 of the last 13 series meetings
– The meeting will be the first of two between the two clubs this spring as they are set to meet in Thibodeaux on April 20.
– The longest game in Jaguar program history came against the Colonels, a 16-inning affair won by Nicholls in Thibodeaux on Feb. 25, 2020.
– USA holds a 9-2 series record at Jaguar Field, while they are just 4-3 in Thibodeaux. 
– Two meetings have come on a neutral field with both teams splitting those contests.
