QUOTES
Head Coach Mark Calvi

- On the win:
"We gave up one (run) in the first (inning), and our guys answered with four. We took some walks and got into some balls early. We put up seven in the first two innings, and then got blanked a little bit. But we didn't give at-bats away; I thought our guys swung the bat really well all night. Miles (Smith) was good enough. He is much sharper, and we need him to be. I'm not taking anything from Rhode Island; they hit some mistakes. From last week to this week, there was noticeable improvement but he is still making some mistakes over the heart of the plate – especially with two strikes. He was up around 90 pitches and had much better fastball command tonight. He is our guy and we need him moving forward, but he was good enough tonight. And we swung the bat up and down the lineup really well. Early in the year it is good to get as many guys in there as you can. Tonight we finished with four freshmen on the mound, and it was good to get some guys some at-bats and some innings."
