MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama track & field team will open its indoor season Friday at the UAB Blazer Invitational hosted by UAB at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

NOTES
- South Alabama returns 14 all-Sun Belt Conference performers from last season: Graham Collins (combined events), Dorian Curry (jumps), David Dolan (pole vault), Ina Edstrom (pole vault), Christian Ellis (sprints), Shay Lee (distance medley), Sebastian Loschner (throws), Noah Mumme (pole vault), Francois Prinsloo (throws), Kyle Rademeyer (pole vault), Xavier Rogers (sprints), Collette Uys (throws), Hanna Mai Vaikla (combined events) and Abbey Weitenbeck (distance medley). Seven of whom earned indoor honors. 
- Collins and Rademeyer both took home wins in their respective events at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships last year. 
- 39 total student-athletes will make the trip to UAB, while five will make their collegiate debuts at the meet. 
- Last season, Sun Belt Indoor Newcomer of the Year, Kyle Rademeyer represented the Jags at the NCAA Indoor Championships, placing 11th with a 5.30m mark in the pole vault. 
-The meet is the first of six that will take place in Birmingham over the course of the indoor season, including the Sun Belt Conference Championships (Feb. 21-22).
