Head Coach Richard Moodie
On leadership from midfield: "We've got a lot of players that are very versatile in the middle. They play a lot off the ball, which allows their teammates to be successful. I still think we have that engine and the same quality leadership from Gracie Wilson and Danielle Fuentes."

On the midfield role: "We've got five center midfielders that can offer us something different offensively and defensively. The biggest thing we looked for in the middle of the park is not having "cookie-cutter" playmakers; everyone has something special to offer us."

On the midfield strength: "We're returning the likes of Danielle Fuentes and Gracie Wilson, who's been on the all-conference team every year. She's a captain for us—she's the engine. Gracie does a lot of work off the ball and that allows her teammates to do what they need to do succeed. Danielle played in the middle of the field and scored a hat trick in her home debut for us. Re-introducing them to the squad they've played on will have an impact on the newcomers quickly. I think the biggest strength is returning that all-conference quality to the team."

On the newcomers: "We've got two student-athletes who played for their senior national teams. We haven't seen them on the field yet, but we feel we have quality midfielders between Marthina Aguirre, Imane Addi and Madison Morgan. We're really excited to get them out there and coach them."

Gracie Wilson
On the upcoming season: "I have a different feeling about this year, I'm excited to see how the returners and newcomers come together this year."

On her personal goals: "I'd like to try to get on the scoreboard more this season."

On the newcomers: "We have a lot of international student-athletes this year, so that's always a unique experience. A lot of them have played for some amazing clubs back in their home countries and it's a cool culture to be apart of. We also have some transfers coming from the states so we know their competitiveness is going to be amazing and help bring our level up."

Marthina Aguirre
On her personal goals: "I'm excited to be here and learn from my teammates. There are many student-athletes coming from other countries and schools, so it's going to be a great mixture of experiences and knowledge, and I want to learn from them and the coaches. I also want to be the best student I can be academically."

On the transition to South Alabama: "It's been great, everyone has been friendly and supportive. It's made being away from family easier because our teammates have been there for us newcomers and it's a great environment."
