Date: 8/13
Time: 10-11:30 a.m. (CDT)
Place: Jaguar Training Center
Practice attire: Helmets and shorts, no pads
Featured Offensive Player of the Day: Jalen Tolbert, Jr., WR, Mobile, Ala.
-Offensive coordinator Major Applewhite on Tolbert: "What a joy it is to work with Jalen, day in and day out he has a smile on his face to go along with an incredible work ethic. He is always trying to learn more about the layers and details of what you are doing. Obviously his skill set speaks for itself, but he has opened himself up to coaching from Coach [Michael] Smith — who has coached a lot of great wide receivers — and continued to learn every day. I'm very pleased with his development and can't wait to see him play on the fourth."
Featured Defensive Player of the Day: Tré Young, Sr., S, Mobile, Ala.
-Defensive coordinator Corey Batoon on Young: "Tré has had a good camp thus far, he has really made the transition from the last eight or nine practices in the spring when he started flashing. He had a great summer, he picked up weight and has been able to keep that weight on through the first nine days of camp. I'm anxious to see what he looks like tomorrow in the scrimmage with the coaches off the field, but he has had a really good camp so far."
Play of the Day: On the first snap of the final team period of the morning, CJ Rias stepped in front of the intended receiver at the last minute to intercept the pass, which he then returned down the sideline for a touchdown.
Team period highlights: With the Jaguars in only helmets the day before a scrimmage, there were just a pair of team periods in the workout.

Head coach Kane Wommack
-On the defense's performance during the two-minute drill to end the day: "From a defensive perspective, when we get into situational downs and situations such as two-minute, red zone and third downs, so much of what we do is executing and communicating with a tremendous amount of confidence. To me, that takes body language, a demeanor, an attitude that you walk on the field with, and it determines the outcome of that series or situation. I feel our guys are really starting to lean into that mindset."
-On what he wants to see out of his team in the first scrimmage: "The first thing for us is that we want to know what to do so well that the 'how to do it' is the overwhelming factor in our minds. We have put a lot of install in and tomorrow, we're going to pull some of those things back and try to hone into what a traditional game plan would be, and see how our guys can execute at a very high level from a fundamental standpoint. Certainly you always want to see tackling, see discipline and limit the penalties on both sides of the ball, because those things always happen when you start to bring in league officials. I'm excited to see the 'how', the effort, the fundamentals and the physicality that we have to play the game with."
-On what has stood out to him now seven practices into fall camp: "What I like most is that our guys are executing what we ask them to do. We don't make a lot of mistakes on both sides of the ball. The effort and the physicality that we're playing with right now is the standard that we have to uphold as we move into the season and then continue to build off those things. We talk about it all the time, but what we did yesterday is no longer good enough for tomorrow because we should continue to get better as a team every day."
-On what it means to the program for all the scouts who have been to the first few days of camp: "It's exciting to see so many organizations from the NFL being represented on our campus. I believe we've already had eight [teams] represented and we're only a few days into camp. To me, it's a credit to the young men that are in our program and the dedication that they've made to their bodies individually, as well as our team collectively. Success breeds better players, and it allows them to showcase their full capacity at the next level."
Up next: The Jaguars will conduct a two-hour scrimmage beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hancock Whitney Stadium.
