QUOTES
Head Coach Mark Calvi
- On the win:
"It wasn't JoJo's (Booker) best day, but he hung in there. He avoided a three or five spot, hung in there and battled and got us to the middle of the ballgame. And Jase (Dalton) came in and was outstanding. Our guys battled like crazy, and we had some great at-bats especially in the fifth inning. We got a squeeze down and (Kaleb) DeLaTorre with the home run, but a couple of guys worked hard to get on (base). Alden Davis had a really good at-bat and (Cameron) Tissue had a good at-bat to get on. We had some traffic on the bases and guys got some big hits today. Jase Dalton was without a doubt outstanding today with a wind blowing out 15 miles per hour. He started off not so sharp as well. I thought the zone was a little tight. Jase doesn't usually walk guys, but he had to work around some traffic. I couldn't be more proud of our guys' effort today on a day yesterday that stung. Our guys could have been a little hungover, but winning matters to them; it was very important to them to win and play well today, and it showed on the field."
- On taking game three and avoiding the three-game sweep:
"We arguably could have taken two out of three here this weekend. Friday didn't go our way and yesterday you chalk it up and flush it down the toilet. Friday was a tough loss, but there was no hangover from Friday and Saturday. Our guys came out and addressed today like it was a totally separate day from the last two days, which it is. Otherwise, yesterday you would have to count it as two wins from them because it would have leaked into today. But our guys did a good job of compartmentalizing each game and playing today for what it was, and that was today's game and the most important game of the year."
