GAME FACTS

- Michael Sandle doubled down the left field line to lead off the bottom of the fifth inning, and moved to third with no outs on a wild pitch from CCU right-hander Shaddon Peavyhouse. Ethan Wilson followed with a sacrifice fly to right field to plate Sandle and double the Jaguar lead at 2-0. USA loaded the bases with two outs later in the inning on three straight walks by Powers, Stokes and Balgaard, but CCU right-handed reliever Teddy Sharkey recorded an inning-ending strikeout of Tissue to end the threat.
- CCU cut its deficit in half in the top of the sixth inning on an RBI groundout to first by Parker Chavers. Alex Gattinelli followed with an RBI infield single to third to tie the score 2-2.
- Chavers drew a leadoff walk in the top of the ninth, and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Gattinelli. BT Riopelle followed with a one-out, two-run home run to right field for a 4-2 Chanticleer advantage.

QUOTES
Head Coach Mark Calvi

- On the loss:
"Miles (Smith) was really good. He's been better this year, and he will tell you that. But he competed like crazy for us, both he and (Tyler) Perez. Our guys competed all night long, we just left too many runners out there. We didn't get the big hit when it mattered, and that was the bottom line. We had a chance to extend it a couple of different innings, and just left too many men on base against a very capable Coastal Carolina team with some very good pitchers. We had our opportunities. All you can ask is that you put yourself in a position to win the ballgame, and we had opportunities tonight but it didn't happen for us. We'll move on and be ready to go tomorrow."
