JAGUAR SOFTBALL TO CLOSE OUT REGULAR SEASON WITH TWO-GAME SERIES VERSUS TROY

2021 JAGUAR FIELD POLICIES
– In compliance with CDC and state public health guidance, seating in Jaguar Field is socially-distanced resulting in approximately 25 percent seating capacity this spring.
– Current season tickets holders and home and visitor pass lists are the only fans allowed admittance during the season.
– Face coverings will be required for entry and at all times, except when actively eating and drinking.
– All concession stand transactions are cashless.
– As a reminder, the first row of seats behind home plate, as well as the outfield deck areas are closed to the public for the 2021 season.
– Gates open one hour prior to first pitch.

SCOUTING THE JAGUARS    
– South Alabama (25-16, 12-8 SBC) enters the final weekend of the regular season after being swept at Georgia Southern over the weekend.
– Meredith Keel leads the team with a .381 average, which ranks fourth in the league, while her 45 hits are 10th-most among SBC batters. Keel also leads the team with 13 multiple hit outings.
– She also has seven sacrifice hits, which are tied for second in the league, and is 5-for-6 in her stolen base attempts.
– The Ashville, Ohio, native has been even better in Sun Belt play as she holds a .420 batting average through 20 conference games.
– Mackenzie Brasher (.352) has 38 hits and has been successful in seven of her nine stolen base attempts.
– Like Keel, Brasher has been outstanding at the plate in league play as she holds a .358average in Sun Belt games.
– Keel and Brasher (11) have a combined 24 multi-hit games and are the only two Jaguars in double figures in that category.
– Abby Krzywiecki is third on the club with a .310 batting average to go along with four doubles, seven home runs and 25 RBI. Her seven home runs are second on the team, while her 25 RBI are tops on the roster.
– Kamdyn Kvistad leads the team in extra-base hits (17), home runs (9) and holds a team-best .625 slugging percentage, which is fifth-best in the conference.
– Her nine home runs are tied with three other players for second-most in the league. The Lake City, Fla., native has also driven in 24 runs, which is one-behind Krzywiecki.
– The senior enters her final home series with 27 career homers and 97 career RBI. She sits one home run shy of tying former Jags Christin Crocker (2009-12) and Kaitlyn Griffith (2012-15) for the program mark in the category, while she is 10th in career RBI.
– Junior outfielder Caroline Nichols (.282) leads the team in stolen bases with 11 – 10th in the Sun Belt.
– Brasher (21) and Nichols (19) are tops on the club in runs scored as they have combined to cross the plate 40 times.
– Junior infielder Kennedy Cronan has driven in 23 runs, and is tied for eighth in the conference in doubles with 12. As a team, South Alabama is tied for third in the conference in doubles (56).
– Cronan and Krzywiecki have recorded eight multi-RBI games this season, while Kvistad has seven.
– Olivia Lackie continues to pace the club as she is 15-8 with three saves this spring. In her 148.1 innings of work, Lackie holds a 1.93 earned run average with 194 strikeouts.
– She has tossed 13 complete games, including five shutouts, while holding opponents to a .185 batting average.
– Coming into the weekend, she ranks second in the league in strikeouts and innings pitched, third in saves, opposing batting average, strikeouts looking (51) and ERA, and tied for fourth in wins.
– The Walker, La., native is 16th nationally in strikeouts.
– Lackie has been named the Sun Belt's Pitcher of the Week four times this season, as well as numerous national recognitions throughout the year.
– Allie Hughen is fifth in the league in both ERA (2.09) and opponent batting average (.209).

THE SERIES VS. TROY    
– South Alabama and Troy have met 40 previous times in the all-time series.
– The Jaguars hold a 25-15 record in the all-time series and all but two of the series meetings have come during Sun Belt Conference regular-season play.
– The two teams met earlier this spring in Troy with the Trojans picking up a 3-0 victory.
– Prior to Troy's current five-game win-streak in the series, South had won 11-straight in the series.
– Five of the last six games in the series have been one-run decisions.
– During the 11-game series win streak by the Jaguars, South held a 68-11 scoring advantage with two run-rule victories.
– Of the 40 series meetings, 14 have been shutouts with the Jaguars recording nine of those.
