JAGUAR TRACK & FIELD TRAVELS TO LOUISIANA FOR SOUTHEASTERN-CONFERENCE TUNE UP

HAMMOND, La. – The University of South Alabama outdoor track & field teams will be competing at the Southeastern-Conference Tune Up on Saturday at the Southeastern Track Complex. Competition begins at 7 a.m. with the men's 3000m steeplechase, while the field events start at 10 a.m. with the men's high jump.

NOTES
- Senior Rickssen Opont earned his fourth shot put title this season after throwing an 18.77m distance at LSU's Boots Garland Invitational on April 17.
- Junior Hanna-Mai Vaikla won the heptathlon at Alabama's Crimson Tide Invitational on April 10 with a score of 5,411 points, adding 103 points to her previous outdoor best.
- Junior Onesmus Kemboi won the 1500m with a time of 3:59.21 at Auburn's Tiger Track Classic on March 20.
- Senior Autavia Fluker holds the Jaguar hammer throw record with a 66.90m mark, more than five meters farther than former Jaguar Michaela Preachuk (61.59m) in 2019.
- Freshman Sebastian Loschner finished second in the shot put (16.48m) and discus throw (48.92m) at the Boots Garland Invitational.
- Freshman Lance Cunnigan came in second in the 1500m with a season-best time of 4:00.50 at the Tiger Track Classic.
- Senior Javen Jackson placed third in the 400m hurdles after crossing the line at 53.45s at the Boots Garland Invitational.
- Redshirt freshman Meredith Bass established a career-best in the 5000m with a 20:20.85 at the Southern Miss Invitational on April 3. She also recorded personal-bests in the 1500m (5:28.16) at the USA Invitational on March 12 and the 3000m (11:47.08) at the Jaguar Opener on March 5.
- Sophomore Susanna Pudner has the tenth-fastest time in the 5000m with her third-place time of 17:32.68 at the Tiger Track Classic.
- Sophomore Rocio Chaparro placed third in the javelin throw with a 40.09m mark at the Jaguar Opener on March 5.
- Junior Kobe Cox threw an outdoor javelin throw PR of 52.67m for a fourth-place finish at the Jaguar Opener. He also jumped to third place in the high jump with a 1.99m height at the same meet.
- Freshman Adele Magaud ran a PR time of 17:53.61 in the 5000m at the Crimson Tide Invitational.
- 58 student-athletes are set to compete at the Southeaster-Conference Tune Up.
