SCOUTING THE JAGUARS    
– South Alabama (22-13, 10-5 SBC) enters its final scheduled midweek game of the spring after splitting a Sun Belt doubleheader on Sunday with UT Arlington.
– The Jaguars took game one, 4-1, but fell 7-4 to the Mavs in game two,
– Victoria Ortiz had three hits, including a home run, and drove in three in the doubleheader, while Meredith Keel and Mackenzie Brasher each had three hits apiece in the finale.
– Keel leads the team with a .376 average, which is tied for 10th in the league, while her 38 hits are also 10th-most among SBC batters. She also has seven sacrifice hits, which are tied for the league lead, and is 4-for-5 in her stolen base attempts.
– The Ashville, Ohio, native has been even better in Sun Belt play as she holds a .444 batting average through 15 conference games.
– Brasher (.368) is right behind Keel offensively as the duo leads the team with 11 multi-hit games each this spring. Brasher has 35 hits and has been successful in five of her six stolen base attempts.
– Krzywiecki is third on the club with a .333 batting average to go along with four doubles, five home runs and 21 RBI, which are tied for second-most on the team. Her .597 slugging percentage leads the Jaguar roster.
– Junior outfielder Caroline Nichols (.324) leads the team in stolen bases with 10 – tied for eighth in the Sun Belt.
– Brasher and Nichols are tops on the club in runs scored with 18 each as they have combined to cross the plate 36 times.
– Kvistad leads the team in extra-base hits (14), home runs (7) and holds a .628 slugging percentage. Her seven home runs are tied with four other players for seventh-most in the league. The Lake City, Fla., native has also driven in 21 runs.
– Junior infielder Kennedy Cronan has driven in a team-best 22 runs. She is tied for fifth in the conference in doubles with 12, which also ranks 18th nationally and fourth in the league in that category.
– As a team, South Alabama ranks 25th nationally in doubles (50) and 49th in doubles per game (1.43).
– Freshman pitcher Olivia Lackie continues to pace the club as she is 13-6 with three saves this spring. In her 124.0 innings of work, Lackie holds a 1.81 earned run average with 165 strikeouts.
– She has tossed 10 complete games, including five shutouts, while holding opponents to a .174 batting average.
– Coming into the week, she leads the Sun Belt in innings pitched and saves, while ranking second in strikeouts, ERA, opposing batting average, third in strikeouts looking (42), and fifth in wins.
– The Walker, La., native is 13th nationally in strikeouts and shutouts.
– Lackie has been named the Sun Belt's Pitcher of the Week four times this season.
– Allie Hughen is fourth in the league in ERA (2.09), fifth in opponent batting average (.209), and 10th in innings pitched (73.2).

THE SERIES VS. SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI    
– South Alabama and Southern Mississippi have met 22 previous times in the all-time series.
– The Jaguars hold a 15-6-1 advantage in those meetings. The two teams split the two meetings last spring with each winning on the other's home field.
– The two teams have met in Hattiesburg 10 times in the series with the series with the Jags holding a slim 5-4-1 record in those meetings.
– The lone tie in program history came against USM on Feb. 21, 2009 in Hattiesburg (6-6).
– Tuesday's contest will be the first series meeting this spring between the two programs as the Jaguars were originally also scheduled to face each other in Mobile on March 17, but that game was canceled due to weather.
– There have been nine shutouts in the series with the Jags holding five of them.
– Four of the Golden Eagles' five series wins in have been one-run decisions.
– The first game in program history came against Southern Miss in Hattiesburg on Feb. 14, 2007, a 1-0 victory by the Golden Eagles.
