QUOTES
Head Coach Mark Calvi

- On the win:
"(Tyler) Lehrmann was the story of the ballgame tonight. He got seven out of seven lead outs, and Miles (Smith) got both of his lead outs. They were both outstanding. Lehrmann pitching through the bases-loaded jam with no outs was the ballgame right there. We know how good Southern Miss' pitching is and knew we couldn't afford to give up too many (runs) with as good as those guys are. Those are some midweek relievers who are 90 to 95 (mph) – they are outstanding. Ethan (Wilson) had a good night, Mike (Sandle) taking a walk early and (Kaleb) DeLaTorre with a big blast – he drove in three runs and was huge for us. We played very good defense. I thought it was a complete ballgame tonight. Everything was right. Our mindset was outstanding and that's the key.

- On the upcoming weekend series:
"These guys are very capable. If they have their minds right, there's no telling what they can do and I've been telling them that all season long. But this is about them and what they believe, not what I tell them. Hopefully, mental energy is contagious as well. They look at Southern Miss and see they are having a good year, and the best version of themselves showed up tonight and it has against them (USM) all year long. If we can take that mental framework into the rest of the season, I like our chances no question about it."

LHP Tyler Lehrmann
- On his performance:
"I just wanted to throw a lot of strikes and get all of my pitches working. I didn't have many curveballs or changeups, I just had to work a lot of fastballs and locate. I located a lot better than I have all year, and that was the key for me tonight. I just tried to go out there and get as many outs as I could. Once they (USM) got the bases loaded with no outs and we got three straight outs, that is really when I settled in. That really fired me up."

- On the four-run first inning:
"That was awesome. Having a long inning like that, I just went down to the bullpen to stay loose. But it's great to always pitch with a lead, especially in the first inning. It allows you to go out there with confidence and let them hit it and let the defense work."
