NEW ORLEANS – University of South Alabama track & field's, Autavia Fluker, was named the Sun Belt Conference Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon.
Senior Autavia Fluker claimed the top spot in the hammer throw with a 64.39m performance last weekend at the Tiger Track Classic. The Bessemer, Alabama native, has now won three consecutive titles in the hammer throw this season at the following meets: Tiger Track Classic (March 20-21), USA Invitational (March 12) and Jaguar Opener (March 5).
She is currently the top hammer throw performer in the league and Jaguar history after her 66.11m first-place performance at the USA Invitational.
Fluker and the Jaguars will compete Thursday – Saturday at the Texas Relays at the Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.
