SCOUTING THE JAGUARS    
– South Alabama (16-8, 6-0 SBC) enters the weekend series with Louisiana after sweeping its second-straight Sun Belt Conference series.
– The Jaguars took game one of the series (5-3), and rallied back with a six-run seventh to take game two (8-4). In the finale, South broke the game open with a seven-run fourth inning en route to a five-inning, 11-1 victory.
– South had been scheduled to face ninth-ranked LSU in Mobile on Wednesday, but the game was canceled due to inclement weather.
– Abby Krzywiecki leads the club with a .415 batting average and of her 17 hits, seven have gone for extra bases.
– She also ranks second on the club with 15 RBI and her .732 slugging percentage is tops on the team.
– The Brighton, Mich., native is currently riding both an 11-game hit and reached-base-safely streak.
– The hit streak is tied with four other players for 10th-longest streak in program history and the longest since Brittani Reid's 12-game streak during the 2019 season.
– Meredith Keel and Mackenzie Brasher have been solid in the lineup this spring. Keel (.375) is tied for eighth in the Sun Belt in hits with 27, while Brasher (.362) is close behind her with 25.
– Caroline Nichols (.333), Shelby Sloan (.325) and Belle Wolfenden (.321) are also having solid seasons at the plate for the Jaguars.
– Kamdyn Kvistad leads the team in extra-base hits (11), home runs (5) and holds a .644 slugging percentage. Her five home runs are tied for fifth-most in the league and just two shy of the leader in the category.
– Junior infielder Kennedy Cronan has driven in a team-best 19 runs, which ranks 10th in the SBC. She also is tied for third in the conference and ranks seventh in the nation with nine doubles this spring.
– As a team, South Alabama ranks 10th nationally in doubles (42) and 25th in doubles per game (1.75).
– In the circle, freshman Olivia Lackie continues to pace the club as she is 11-3 on the year. In her 88.0 innings of work, Lackie holds a 1.91 earned run average with 130 strikeouts.
– She has tossed seven complete games, including four shutouts while holding opponents to a.160 batting average.
– Coming into the week, she leads the conference in opponent batting average and wins, while ranking second in innings pitched and strikeouts, and third in strikeouts looking (29) and fourth in ERA.
– The Walker, La., native fourth in strikeouts nationally and her 11 wins are sixth-most in the NCAA this spring.

THE SERIES VS. LOUISIANA    
– South Alabama and Louisiana have met 45 previous times in the all-time series.
– Louisiana holds a 34-11 advantage in the all-time series and has won 18 of the 20 series meetings in Lafayette.
– The Ragin' Cajuns swept the regular-season series in Mobile last spring.
– Five meetings in the series have gone into extra innings, while eight decisions have been by run-rule.
– The Ragin' Cajuns have won the last five Sun Belt Conference series versus the Jaguars, and 12 straight coming into the weekend.
– During the program's previous 13 seasons, South has won two SBC series versus the Ragin' Cajuns (2013 and 2009).  The two clubs also tied the first conference series during the 2007 season with each picking up a win.
– The two teams have met eight times in the postseason with three of those meetings coming during the championship game of the Sun Belt tournament (2012, '14, '15).
