NEW ORLEANS – After setting a new career-best in the 1500-meter race, Silje Lindstad was voted the Sun Belt Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league Thursday afternoon.
The Bergen, Norway native, finished third in the 1500m, after crossing the line at 4:33.21 at the USA Invitational last Saturday. Her 1500m time is currently the fifth-fastest time in program history.
The junior has recorded four top-three finishes during her outdoor track career with South Alabama.
Lindstad and the Jaguars will return to action this weekend to compete in the Tiger Track Classic on Saturday and Sunday.
