– In compliance with CDC and state public health guidance, seating in Jaguar Field is socially-distanced resulting in approximately 25 percent seating capacity this spring.
– Current season tickets holders and home and visitor pass lists are the only fans allowed admittance during the season.
– Face coverings will be required for entry and at all times, except when actively eating and drinking.
– All concession stand transactions are cashless.
– As a reminder, the first row of seats behind home plate, as well as the outfield deck areas are closed to the public for the 2021 season.
– Gates open one hour prior to first pitch.

SCOUTING THE JAGUARS    
– South Alabama (10-8) enters the weekend conference series after falling in extra innings, 6-5 [8 inn.] at Ole Miss Wednesday night.
– The Jaguars jumped out to a 4-0 lead and then tied it in the top of the seventh after a pair of two-out, pinch hits, before the Rebels earned the walk-off win in the bottom of the inning on a bases-loaded walk.
– Kennedy Cronan and Kamdyn Kvistad both homered in the contest, while Meredith Keel drove in a pair of runs.
– Kvistad (.349) leads the club and ranks second in the SBC in home runs (5). The Lake City, Fla., native is also tied with Keel and Cronan for the team lead in doubles (6) and paces the club in RBI (12) and total bases (36).
– Of her 15 hits on the spring, 11 have gone for extra bases.
– Keel (.356) leads the club with seven multi-hit efforts, while Mackenzie Brasher (.360) is right behind the Jag infielder with six.
– Cronan has also driven in 10 runs.
– Abby Krzywiecki leads the team in hitting with a .364 average and enters the weekend series with a five-game hit streak.
– South is led in the circle by senior pitcher Allie Hughen and freshman Olivia Lackie.
– Hughen comes into the series with a 1.79 earned run average in 39.0 innings of work. She has started eight of the 11 games in which she has pitched.
– Lackie – the reigning Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the week –  ranks second in league in strikeouts with 86.
– The righty also earned SBC Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time this spring earlier this week.
– She holds a 2.26 ERA and is 7-3 in the circle.
– Both Hughen and Lackie hold a sub-200 opponent batting average at .188 and .179, respectively.

THE SERIES VS. APPALACHIAN STATE    
– South Alabama and Appalachian State have met 18 previous times in the all-time series.
– The Jaguars won the first 11 meetings in the series, the Mountaineers then took three of four, but South won the three-game series last spring.
– Jag pitcher Lexi Hutchins picked up both wins in relief last season.
– The series against the Mountaineers was the only conference series that South Alabama played during 2020 as the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the remainder of the season after the opening weekend of conference play.
– App State won the last meeting in Mobile (5-2), as the Mountaineers have taken the final game of the series  on the Jags' home field each of their last two visits.
– Overall, South Alabama holds a 94-47 scoring advantage in the series.
– South's last three wins in the series have all been by double digits, while they have been held to two runs or less in each of the last five losses.
– The 20 runs put up by App State in the 2020 series marked the most runs scored by them in a three-game series against USA.
– Prior to the 2019 series, App State had scored a total of 14 runs in the first 12 meetings versus the Jaguars.
– South holds five shutouts in the series and has outscored the Mountaineers 48-26 in Mobile.

– South Alabama holds a 10-4 record in its Sun Belt Conference home openers over the program's previous 14 seasons.
