SOUTH ALABAMA TRACK & FIELD TO HOST JAGUAR INVITATIONAL

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of South Alabama track and field program will host the Jaguar Invitational Sunday at the Birmingham CrossPlex. The Jaguars had a strong finish last week on Sunday, with six student-athletes recording top-10 performances and setting new personal bests at the KMS Open in Birmingham, Ala., and the Scarlett and Black Invitational in Jonesboro, Ark. 

This week, USA will compete against student-athletes from 15 different schools. This meet will mark the third time this indoor season that the Jags have competed at the Birmingham CrossPlex. They are slated to compete at the venue once more for the Sun Belt Indoor Conference Championships  Feb. 22-23.

NOTES
- Xavier Rogers set a personal best and program record this past weekend in the 400m at the KMS Open. His second-place time of 48.74s is the seventh-fastest in program history. 
- Cameron Stewart's performance in the 400m at the KMS Open placed fourth with a 49.11 mark, which is the ninth-best mark in program history.
- Kiara Risher's second place mark of 1.65m in the high jump at the Scarlett and Black Invitational last weekend was the sixth highest jump in program history.
- Angeline Smit took fifth place in the shot put with a 13.89 effort at the Scarlett and Black Invitational. Her distance is currently the seventh all-time performance in the program.
- Dorian Curry's high jump effort at the same meet took fourth place with a 2.01 distance, which is the sixth-highest in program history.
- The competition will begin at 12:10 p.m. with the women's high jump. Running events are scheduled to begin at 12:15 p.m. with the women's 3000m.
