THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Nick Brochu
- On this weekend's matches: "Today was a great day. We had an amazing battle against South Florida yesterday, even though we lost. I was happy with the way we competed and the way we stayed focus. Regardless of the score, we played every single point like it was the last one. We came a little short on Friday, but I was very happy, and I told them that we needed to carry over that energy and fighting spirit into Sunday.
"Today was a great battle. I thought we were a little tougher today. We did awesome as far as staying focused, regardless if we were up or down a break. The other important thing was that we needed to feed off each other's energy. I want them to be loud and cheer each other on from court to court. The key is to get on the board, and once you get past that then, everyone starts relaxing, and that's great."
- On Collard's performance: "Great job for Seb [Collard]. He had a match that he was able to finish fairly quickly. He didn't take his foot off of the pedal, and he took down his opponent and got us on the board early. That was a tremendous help in addition to us winning four first sets.
"Winning the first sets doesn't guarantee we will win the match, but at least we felt that we were in the lead, and that's what allowed us to relax, play our game and go for it. We had a good day even with the matches we lost. We were fighting nonstop, so I am very pleased with the way we competed, with North Florida being a tough team. They've beaten us more than we've beaten them, so this win was really sweet. They have a very well-coached team, so it's an awesome feeling to be at home and winning this match."
