THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Nick Brochu
- On doubles: "Well, today was exciting and disappointing at the same time. We did great in doubles. It was so competitive, and we were loud and in the match. It was great to watch the back and forth. The adrenaline was high, and it was awesome to watch. The team responded very well and executed the game plan."
- On singles: "I'm disappointed in the way we started singles. It became really windy, and it was as if our team was letting everything affect them a little too much. You can't always have a good day, and if you're having a bad day, you have to deal with adversity and find a way to win. Now, not taking anything away from UCF because they are probably the best team we've played all year. They're a top 20 program and are very well-coached. I thought they were a team similar to Mississippi State. We kept our composure, and we stayed focused regardless if we're up or down, and today we didn't do that.
"Overall, a little bit disappointed, but we did have some good things. Julien [Evrard] and Clem [Marzol] played a well-competitive game. Clem came two points away from winning, and Julien had an excellent match, so there were some positives today. We definitely have to regroup and practice tomorrow to get ready for our rematch with Florida Atlantic on Thursday."
