NEW ORLEANS – After leading South Alabama to a 3-0 record, including a 2-0 mark at the Las Vegas Classic, senior guard Charles Manning Jr. was named the Sun Belt's Player of the Week on Tuesday announced by the league office.
 
Manning Jr. averaged 23.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in two games at the Las Vegas Classic, earning tournament MVP. In the opening round, Manning Jr. posted 21 points on 10-of-18 shooting and added a career-high seven assists in a win over San Diego. In the championship game against Hawaii, he scored a career-high 25 points and matched his career-best seven rebounds.
 
Earlier in the week, the Riverhead, N.Y. native dropped in 18 points, four assists and four rebounds in 24 minutes against William Carey. He has scored 10 or more points in seven consecutive games for the Jaguars.  
 
Manning Jr. is the first Jag to win weekly honors since Chad Lott on March 4, 2020.
