NOTES
- Kohoutova was the only Jaguar to win in both doubles and singles. 
- Along with Tutunaru, she picked up an 8-4 win over Mississippi State's doubles duo of Falceto and Mikhailuk.
- Seeded 15th in the Main Draw, Kohoutova defeated Kristen Borland (Tulane) in straight sets to advance to the round of 32.
- Also picking up singles victories in the Main Draw were Yu Fujioka, who was seeded 13th in the flight and defeated Jacksonville State's Carolina Bulatovic in straight sets, and Van Der Merwe, also a straight-set winner over Samford's Samantha Nanere.
- Scheufler was also a singles victor on Friday as she defeated ULM's Garbino in three sets in a consolation match.
- South Alabama will be back in action with doubles beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

- On today's performance: "We definitely got better as a team today. Some good wins individually and maybe one or two matches that we could have turned our way, but overall a great day of preseason competition. Our mindset is great and our competitive spirit is strong. There is no doubt in my mind that this could be one of the better teams we have had in a while. We need to keep embracing the day-to-day grind of the preseason."
