MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama soccer team has released its spring schedule, which includes nine matches with four to be played against Southeastern Conference opponents.

Due to the postponement of the NCAA tournament to April, this spring will be about more than player development as USA earned an automatic berth by winning the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in early November.

USA plays three matches in February, starting with Southern Miss visiting The Cage on Feb. 14 to kick off the season. A week later, South will travel to Montevallo, Ala. to face the Falcons on the 21st. On the final day of the month, LSU comes to The Cage as the first of two SEC opponents to play in Mobile.
 
The next pair of matches are part of a home-and-home series with the Jaguars traveling to Pensacola to face West Florida on March 6. A week later the Argonauts make the return trip to Mobile on the 13th.

Alabama comes to The Cage on March 21 as the second SEC opponent on the schedule and final SEC member to play in Mobile this spring.

A week following the match with the Crimson Tide, Columbus State is the final scheduled home match to be played at The Cage in the spring on the 27th.

During the first two Saturdays in April, the Jags close out the schedule with a pair of SEC road matches. USA travels to Auburn on April 3 to play the Tigers with a road trip to Oxford, Miss., seven days later to face Ole Miss to close the schedule on the 10th.

The NCAA tournament selection show is scheduled for April 18, and will be when South Alabama will learn its opponent for the upcoming NCAA Tournament including the date, time and location of the match.
