SCOUTING THE JAGUARS    
– South Alabama (8-16) comes into the midweek contest at LSU after taking two of three versus Appalachian State over the weekend in it's Sun Belt Conference opening series.
– The Jaguars took the first two games of the series with a pair of comeback victories in which they rallied in their final at-bat. The Mountaineers defeated South 5-2 on Sunday.
– Both Kamdyn Kvistad and Kassidy Wilcox had outstanding series against App State as they both batted .500. Kvistad had three extra-base hits and drove in four, while Wilcox led the team with six RBI during the series.
– Kvistad (.312) has reached base safely in a career-best 13-straight games coming into Tuesday's contest and leads the team and is tied for fifth in the Sun Belt with 18 RBI. She has seven extra-base hits, including a pair of home runs.
– Wilcox raised her batting average to .314 - which is second-best on the team - over the weekend.
– Junior outfielder Amanda Flynn continues to lead the team hitting at a .338 clip in her 24 games.
– Katelyn Gruich (.257) has a team-high four home runs, which are tied with three other players for seventh-most in the Sun Belt. She has also driven in 11.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS    
– LSU (20-3) enters the game ranked in the top 5 in three of the four national polls. Over the weekend, the Tigers sweeping the LSU Round Robin with a pair of wins over both Campbell and Illinois State.
– With the wins over the weekend, the Tigers extended their win streak to five games and improved to 17-0 at Tiger Park.
– As a pitching staff, LSU holds a 0.93 earned run average and has allowed just 28 runs this spring and has shutout opponents 10 times.
– Five members of the staff hold an ERA 1.20 or lower. Shelby Wickersham (0.40 ERA) and Ali Kilponen (0.45) both hold a 5-1 record, while Shelbi Sunseri is 6-0 with a 1.20 ERA.
– Scored double-digit run totals five times and put up 21 runs on Friday in its first game against Campbell.
– Offensively, LSU has been just as tough on its opponents batting .333 as a team 39 doubles, nine triples, 18 home run and 144 RBI.
– Georgia Clark is batting .426 with nine extra-base hits. Her four home runs are tied with Morgan Cummins (.381) for the team lead. Cummins leads the team with 21 RBI, while Clark has driven in 17 runners.
– Ciara Briggs and Aliyah Andrews are batting .396 and .381, respectively, while Taylor Pheasants is batting .351 with three home runs and 17 RBI.
– Sunseri (.327) has also starred at the plate as she has five doubles and 18 runs driven in.

THE SERIES VS. LSU    
– South Alabama and LSU have met 12 previous times in the all-time series.
– LSU has won 10 of the previous 12 meetings, including the last five in the series.
– The Tigers picked up a 4-0 win in Baton Rouge, which was the fifth-straight at Tiger Park, back during the 2018 season.  
– LSU is 10-1 on its home field with the lone win for the Jaguars in Baton Rouge coming on Feb. 15, 2014, a 2-1 win at the Tiger Classic.
– The Tigers hold eight shutouts in the series, including each of the last four meetings.
– During the five-game win streak in the series, LSU has outscored South Alabama 29-1.  
– In the all-time series, LSU has scored 60 runs, while holding South to 19 runs.  Of the 19 runs scored in the series by the Jags, 12 came in a 12-5 victory in Mobile during the 2013 season.

SOUTH AGAINST THE SEC    
– South Alabama holds an all-time record of 12-42 (.222) against current Southeastern Conference members.
– The game against the Tigers will mark the 55th in program history versus a SEC opponent.
– USA has already faced one SEC opponent this spring falling 7-5 to Missouri during the opening weekend of the season at the NFCA Leadoff Classic.
– Of the 10 teams South has faced from the SEC, Alabama, Florida and Missouri are the lone teams from the league that the Jags have yet to pick up a win against as they hold at least one victory over the other seven schools that they have faced.
– The 15 meetings against Alabama are the most against any SEC member, while USA has also faced LSU 12 times and MSU 9.
– South Alabama has faced at least one SEC team in each of its previous 13 seasons of play since the program began in 2007.
