SCOUTING THE JAGUARS    
– South Alabama (4-6) comes into the weekend after having its four-game win streak snapped after suffering a 6-2 defeat at McNeese State on Tuesday.
– The Cowgirls scored five unanswered runs over their final two innings en route to earning the four-run victory.
– Three Jaguars are currently hitting .360 or better – Amanda Flynn (.385), Mackenzie Brasher (.368) and Katelyn Gruich (.360).
– Five of Gruich's nine base hits have gone for extra bases.
– Brasher has recorded a hit in each of her last six outings, while Kamdyn Kvistad (.313) is currently riding a five-game hit streak and leads the team with nine RBI.
– MC Nichols (.303) leads the team with 11 hits, and has reached base safely in a team-best seven-straight games. She has scored six runs and is a perfect 4-for-4 in her stolen base attempts.

SCOUTING THE DOLPHINS    
– Jacksonville (7-4) enters the tournament after falling, 8-0 in five innings at No. 8 Florida on Wednesday night.
– This past weekend, the Dolphins won four of their five games at the Osprey/Dolphin Invite, picking up wins over Ball State, East Tennessee State (2) and Alabama A&M.
– Freshman catcher Madison Kennedy is batting .389, while Kassidy Cross has started all 11 games and is batting .345.
– Cross' 10 hits are the most on the team and the senior was an ASUN Preseason all-conference selection.
– Makenzie Buss (.308) has two of the Dolphins' five home runs this season.
– Senior pitcher Alyssa Bilodeau (4-2) leads the team in the circle with a 2.57 earned run average.
– She has gone the distance in five of her six starts this season. In her 35.0 innings of work, she has struck out 44 and walked just nine, and is holding opponents to a .188 batting average.

THE SERIES VS. JACKSONVILLE    
– South Alabama and Jacksonville have met two previous times in the all-time series.
– The Jaguars have won both of those meetings, defeating the Dolphins 5-4 in Mobile at the South Alabama Invitational during the 2015 season.

– The lone loss to an ASUN opponent came at the 2015 NCAA Regional in Tuscaloosa, Ala., where USC-Upstate defeated the Jags, 5-3 in the opening game of the regional.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS    
– Memphis (5-5) comes into the tournament after going 2-3 over the weekend at the Florida Gulf Coast Invitational.
– The Tigers two wins came against the host team and Furman, while two of the three losses were to Illinois-Chicago.
– Three of the Tigers' five games at the FGCU tournament were one-run decisions, and four of their five losses this season have come by two runs or less.
– Five players come into the Jaguar tournament batting over .300 and are led by Sam Ibison (.389).
– Brandy Rowland (.367) leads the team with eight runs driven in, while Gracie Morton (.353), Sara Ann Davidson (.346) and Delaney Smith (.303) are three of four players with six.
– Smith has also scored 10 runs this season and is 6-for-6 in her stolen base attempts.

THE SERIES VS. MEMPHIS    
– South Alabama and Memphis have met two previous times in the all-time series.
– The Tigers won both those meetings, defeating South 3-1 at the Mardi Gras Invitational during the 2012 season, and 7-4 at the South Alabama Invitational during the 2009 season.

– Stephen F. Austin (6-3) comes into this weekend's tournament after going 2-3 last weekend at the Maverick Classic hosted by Sun Belt member UTA.  
– The Ladyjacks picked up wins over Kent State and Texas Southern, but lost twice to UMKC and once to UTA.
– SFA is 2-1 against SBC opponents this spring having defeated ULM during the opening weekend, and falling to UTA.
– Alex Hedspeth leads the club with a .440 batting average and she is 4-for-4 in her stolen base attempts.
– Shaylon Govan has also been solid at the plate as she is batting .346. Eight of her nine hits have gone for extra bases and her 10 RBI lead the team.
– SFA has 19 doubles this season and six home runs.
– In the circle, Ashley Kriesel is 3-1 with a 1.68 earned run average. Kriesel has struck out 43 batters and is holding opponents to a .138 batting average.

THE SERIES VS. STEPHEN F. AUSTIN    
– South Alabama and Stephen F. Austin have met three previous times in the all-time series.
– The Jags hold a 3-0 advantage in the series and picked up a pair of wins over the Ladyjacks last season.
– South run-ruled SFA in the first game (8-0 in 5 inns.), and then scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to rally back and pick up a 6-5 win in the second game.
– The first series meeting came back during the 2017 season, 3-0 at the Mardi Gras Classic.
