- The two teams split doubles matches at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions with Delcour and Collard picking up a 6-3 win at No. 3 for the Jags' lone win of the afternoon.
- The Oregon team of Gentry and Charlton – ranked eighth nationally – clinched the point at No. 1 with a 6-4 victory over South's 30th-ranked team of Cloes and Marzol.
- The Ducks then picked up straight-set wins at Nos. 3, 6 and 4 to end the match.
- The 0-3 start to the season is the first since the 1984 season – the third year of the program – when the Jaguars began the spring 0-4. South did go on that season to capture its first Sun Belt Conference title later that season.

THEY SAID IT
Head coach Nick Brochu
- On the match and doubles: "Today was definitely a disappointing result for us. We were in a great position to take the doubles point. We knew if we were able to take doubles that that would give us momentum heading into singles. Oregon is a team that plays a lot of matches indoors, so doubles is a strength of theirs; they are a very explosive team with powerful players with big serves. If we were able to take away what they are best at, we felt that would break them. We weren't able to break them. We played big and they played big, and they were able to break us at the end of doubles. It was great to see Seb [Collard] and Martin [Bugaj] bonding together quickly and playing some solid doubles at No. 3."
- On singles play against Oregon: "The game-plan in singles was to make long rallies and move Oregon's players around because they had a very exhausting match yesterday against Georgia Tech. We felt the longer we were able to make the match go, the more advantageous it would be for us. We had some players make way too many mistakes though. You can't make two winners and then five mistakes, that's a horrible ratio. We didn't make the adjustment and make them slow down, we didn't put the ball in and we didn't try to be more consistent by reducing our power. As a young player, sometimes you aren't able to adjust the game plan when things aren't going right or you either wait too late to make the adjustment and the set is over by the time you realize the adjustments you should be making."
- On what to take away from the weekend moving forward: "We have to get stronger mentally and show more maturity on the court and more of a competitive spirit. We need to use this weekend as motivation to show us where we need to be. You compete in these events to see teams like Texas A&M that is a consistent top 10 program every year. You try to mimic them and learn from them. You try to see what they do well and how they behave themselves off the court, and how the zoom in and focus when they need to. This was a good learning experience for our freshmen. We have a long way to go and we need to get there. We need to keep working hard at practice and making sure we get better each day, so that by the time we get to the conference portion of our schedule, we are tougher and look like the team that we want to be."
