NEW ORLEANS – The University of South Alabama athletic department had a pair of teams recognized by the Sun Belt Conference office Wednesday morning for their work in the classroom as men's track & field and men's cross country both received recognition for having the highest team grade-point-averages among league members in their respective sports.

The men's track & field team recorded a 3.13 GPA during the 2018-19 academic year and won the conference award for the sixth-straight year.

The men's cross country squad posted a GPA of 3.53 to earn the honor.
