WOMEN’S TENNIS STARTS FALL SEASON AT THOMASVILLE INVITATIONAL

MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama women's tennis team will commence its fall schedule this weekend at the Thomasville College Invitational.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION:
Date: Sept. 13, 2019 through Sept. 15, 2019
Place: Glen Arven Country Club, Thomasville, Ga.
Field: Gwinnett, Valdosta State, Auburn-Montgomery, West Alabama, West Florida
Match Times: Play begins Friday at noon

- Milka Pasanen (Jr., Pieksämäki, Finland)
- Cami Moreno (Jr., Rosario, Sante Fe, Argentina, Argentina)
- Diana Monsalve (Sr., Bogota, Colombia)
 
NOTES
- Last season, Kohoutova led the Jaguars with 19 dual wins and shared the team lead in overall victories (22) with Yu Fujioka
- Kohoutova had the team's best win percentage at No. 3 (.727) and No. 4 (.846)
- Pasanen posted a 12-6 doubles record overall, including 11-6 at No. 1
- Monsalve went 9-2 in singles and 4-0 in doubles in 2019
- Moreno transferred from Pittsburgh over the summer

-On this weekend: "I'm excited to get started. We've been practicing for a couple of weeks and Thomasville is a good starting point to see where we are with regards to point play, our toughness and fitness."
-On his expectations for the players: "Results-wise, we want to do better than we did last year, but having said that, we want to establish good routines and habits, and take what we do in practice and slowly start putting it into matches."
