2019 Schedule

MOBILE, Ala. – The 2019 University of South Alabama volleyball schedule features 16 home matches, including two tournaments, as announced Friday by head coach Alexis Meeks.

USA will open the season at the Purdue-Fort Wayne Invitational Aug. 30-31, and will square off with Western Michigan in the 2019 season opener on Fri., Aug., 30, followed by a match with Northern Kentucky. The Jags will face Purdue-Fort Wayne on Aug. 31 to close the weekend.

South Alabama will then return to Mobile to host its first tournament of the year Sept. 6-7. The Jags will square off with Tennessee State and Northwestern State on Sept. 6, followed by a match against Mississippi Valley State on Sept. 7 to close the tournament.

The Jaguars will travel to Kennesaw, Ga., on Sept. 14 to face Samford and Kennesaw State before heading to Montgomery, Ala., on Tue., Sept. 17, for a 7 p.m. match against Alabama State.

USA will then return to Jag Gym to host its second tournament Sept. 20-21. USA will face Louisiana Tech and Bethune-Cookman on Sept. 20, and will square off with Nicholls State on Sept. 21.

The Jags open Sun Belt Conference play on Fri., Sept. 27, when they host Arkansas State, followed by a contest with Little Rock on Sept. 28 at Jag Gym.

USA will then kick off a three-game road swing with matches at Georgia State (Oct. 4), at Georgia Southern (Oct. 5) and at Southern Miss (Oct. 8). South Alabama will host Louisiana (Oct. 11) and ULM (Oct. 12) before heading to Texas to face UT Arlington (Oct. 18) and Texas State (Oct. 19). 

The Jaguars return home Oct. 25 to host Georgia Southern, which will kick off a five-game home stand. USA will host Georgia State on Oct. 27, followed by a midweek match against Troy (Oct. 29). USA will host Coastal Carolina on Nov. 1, followed by the 2019 home finale against Appalachian State on Nov. 2.

South Alabama will close the regular season with three straight road matches:  at Troy (Nov. 8), at Appalachian State (Nov. 15) and at Coastal Carolina (Nov. 17). The Sun Belt Conference Championship will be held Nov. 21-24 in San Marcos, Texas.
