JADONA DAVIS SET TO JOIN WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PROGRAM

MOBILE, Ala. — The University of South Alabama women's basketball team welcomes the addition of transfer Jadona Davis into the program. After spending the last two seasons at Middle Tennessee, Davis joins the Jaguars' program as a junior.

Davis, a 6-foot-4 forward from Waynesboro, Miss., has two years of eligibility remaining but will have to sit out the 2019-2020 season before suiting up for South Alabama.

"We are really excited to have Jadona join our program." Head Coach Terry Fowler said, and continued;  "A young lady we saw in high school, we know a lot about her. She played AAU basketball with Casey Ferguson so she is familiar with someone on our team. Great athleticism, size, and length to the post. Really looking forward to her developing. She is a versatile player, not just a traditional inside post player. She can do a lot of different things. So looking forward to her coming in and working with us everyday to continue to improve."

Davis appeared in a total of 19 games for the Lady Raiders over her two seasons in Murfreesboro, Tenn. She averaged 2.0 points per game, while shooting .325 from the floor. Davis put up a career best nine points against the University of Southern California on December 19, 2017.

After appearing in 11 games for the Lady Raiders and averaging 2.7 points per game during her freshman campaign, Davis returned for her sophomore season. The forward put up a season high five points vs. UTEP on Jan. 19 and played a career high 14 minutes against Mississippi Valley State on Nov. 21.

Davis attended Wayne County High School in Mississippi where she was an all-state performer. During her junior and senior seasons at Wayne County, Davis averaged a double-double and was named to the Mississippi All-State team as a senior for her efforts putting up 20 points, 11 rebounds, and six blocks per game. Davis was named the region 5-5A Offensive Player of the Year in 2017 and participated in the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star game in the same year.
