CHICAGO – University of South Alabama senior Rodrick Sikes has been selected to play for the Sun Belt Conference squad at the 2019 Dos Equis 3X3U National Championship, held Friday-Sunday at the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minn.

The tournament, comprised of 32 four-player teams from each NCAA Division I conference, uses a 3-on-3 format where the champions receive $100,000 and move on to play in the 2019 USA Basketball 3x3 Open National Championship, held May 3-4 in Las Vegas.

Joining Sikes on the Sun Belt team are Ty Cockfield (Arkansas State), Zac Cuthbertson (Coastal Carolina) and Daishon Smith (ULM).

Games will be streamed on Twitter, and the semifinals, third-place game and championship game will be shown live on ESPN2 at 2 p.m. CT.

Sikes finished his career with 1,007 points and 168 3-pointers to rank 17th and fifth, respectively, in South Alabama history. He was a Second Team all-Sun Belt selection as a junior after averaging 18.7 points per game and set a school record with five 30-point performances.

Admission to the Dos Equis 3X3U National Championship is free and fans are encouraged to be part of the atmosphere during regular Mall of America operating hours (10 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. CT on April 5-6, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. CT on April 7).
