KANSAS CITY, Mo. – University of South Alabama junior Josh Ajayi added to his 2018-19 resume by being voted to the all-District 24 team by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

The El Monte, Calif., native was tabbed to the second team after averaging 16.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.

Ajayi ranks 10th in the Sun Belt in scoring and ninth in rebounding, and leads the conference in field-goal percentage (.560). He scored 20 points or more in a game a team-best 11 times and recorded 10 double-doubles, second in the Sun Belt and the most by a USA player since 2013-14.

He was a member of the all-Sun Belt Tournament team after averaging 18.0 points per game, including 23.5 ppg in the first two rounds, and a Second Team all-Sun Belt selection.

Ajayi eclipsed the 1,000-point mark earlier in the season and finished the year with 1,262, which is 12th-most in school history.

Located in Kansas City, Mo., the NABC was founded in 1927 by Phog Allen, the legendary basketball coach at the University of Kansas. Allen, a student of James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, organized coaches into this collective group to serve as Guardians of the Game.  The NABC currently has nearly 5,000 members consisting primarily of university and college men's basketball coaches.
