MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama women's tennis team tied the school record with its 61st consecutive home win with a 4-2 victory over UT Arlington Saturday at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Courts.

The Jaguars improve to 12-1 while the Mavericks fall to 9-4.

DOUBLES
-Alexandria Stiteler and Yu Fujioka fell to Nanaka Takeuchi and Liz Chileno 6-1 at No. 2.
-Nikola Kouhoutova and Yurie Takanishi dropped Almudena Boza and Cerdan 6-2 on court 3.
-Patricia Martins and Milka Pasanen secured the doubles point by defeating Momoka Horiguchi and Carla Pons 7-6 (7-0) at No. 1.

SINGLES
-Pasanen opened singles play besting Chileno 6-1, 6-0 on court 5 to put the Jaguars up 2-0.
-Stiteler fell 6-2, 6-0 to Horiguchi at No. 1 to get the Mavericks on the board at 2-1.
-Kohoutova bounced back to top Takeuchi 6-3, 6-1 on court 4 for a 3-1 lead.
-Leslie Soto dropped a point for the Jags, falling 6-2, 6-3 to Lucia Natal at No. 3, to pull the Mavericks within 3-2.
-Martins clinched the win for the Jaguars, downing Boza 6-4, 6-1 on court 6.

"I was excited for today, I had some sleepless nights over this match because this is a good team so we'll see how this win holds up later in the season, but today was a good battle and I think we played one of our better singles matches in a long time."

NOTES
-USA's home win streak dates back to the 2013 season; the previous record lasted from 1998-03
-The Jags are 5-0 all-time against the Mavericks; Saturday was the first regular-season meeting between the two schools
-South Alabama improved to 21-1 at the bottom two singles flights
-Martins and Pasanen dealt Horiguchi and Pons their first doubles loss of the season (8-1)
-In singles, Martins is a team-best 10-0
