LAST GAME
The University of South Alabama women's basketball team fell 58-69 on Thursday night to Arkansas State at the First National Bank Arena in Jonesboro, Ark., snapping a five game win streak in Sun Belt play.
Arkansas State used a 10-0 scoring run late in the second to expand their lead to 12 heading into halftime. The Jaguars fought back and cut the Red Wolves lead in half heading into the fourth, and Jayla Morrow connected on a three early in the quarter to put the Jags down by just three. Arkansas State, however, was not fazed and quickly regained control of the ballgame, pulling out the 11-point win without much of a doubt. The Red Wolves had five players in double figures, with Jireh Washington leading the way with 14.
South Alabama started the game 0-for-9 from behind the arc until Shaforia Kines hit one early in the second quarter. The Jags, ranked second in the Sun Belt shooting .368 from three, shot a mere 26.9 percent from deep. Kines finished with 15 points and seven rebounds, while shooting 6-of-11 from the floor.

They Said It
Head Coach Terry Fowler
What makes Little Rock such a tough place to play: "Look, they're a tough place to play no matter where you play them. They just do a great job, they're really a simple team but have so much repetition at what they do, that they're really good at it. Great coaching, they have a really good fan base there that supports them. They have a level of consistency year in and year out that has allowed them to be the program they are."
NEXT GAME
South Alabama returns to the Mitchell Center to take on Georgia Southern on Thursday, Feb. 14. Tip-off vs. the Eagles is slated for 7 p.m. in Mobile, Ala.
