MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama Department of Athletics announced on Thursday that it will conduct three open house events in the coming weeks for Jaguar fans and the general public to attend in order to learn more about Hancock Whitney Stadium.
Dates for the free open house events are Tuesday, Feb. 12, Thursday, Feb. 21 and Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Mitchell Center, with all three set to begin at 5:30 p.m. (CST). Â Parking will be available in the Mitchell Center south lot at no cost, with Jaguar fans encouraged to use the main entrance to access sections 107-109 for the presentation.
The events will include a virtual tour of Hancock Whitney Stadium as well as a guided view of the facility's web site, and will be followed by a question-and-answer session. Â For those unable to attend, questions may be submitted each day through various South Alabama Athletics social media channels.
Hancock Whitney Stadium is the University's new on-campus football stadium, currently under construction and scheduled to open in 2020. Â The 25,000-seat facility will be located on the west side of campus, adjacent to the Jaguar Training Center, Football Fieldhouse and football practice fields. Â Included in the plans are a state-of-the-art video board and sound system, an end-zone terrace, 18-seat suites, a club level with 800 seats, and premier chairback and benchback seating options. Â The site will include hospitality areas for tailgating, events and recreational vehicle parking.
