BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Senior Alexandria Stiteler and sophomore Nikola Kohoutova combined for three victories in the University of South Alabama's women's tennis team's 4-1 victory against Samford Sunday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.

The Jaguars continue their unbeaten start to the season at 6-0. The Bulldogs drop to 4-2.

DOUBLES
-Stiteler and Kohoutova teamed up at No. 3 doubles to defeat Holly Horsfall and Amanda Killduff 6-0
-Senior Patricia Martins and sophomore Milka Pasanen downed Natalia De Ugarte and Elsa Pool 6-1 at No. 1 to put the Jaguars up 1-0
-Samford's Grace Jennings and Mary Kathrine Lewis topped sophomore Yu Fujioka and freshman Yurie Takanishi 6-3 at No. 2

SINGLES
-Fujioka got on the board first at No. 2 singles, defeating De Ugarte 6-0, 6-3
-Pool pulled one back for the Bulldogs on court 3 with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Takanishi
-Stiteler needed two tiebreakers to get past Jennings 7-6, 7-6 at No. 1 to give the Jags a 3-1 lead
-Kohoutova closed out the match on court 4, 6-3, 6-0 over Arianna Beltrame

NOTES
-South Alabama is 13-2 all-time against Samford and has won the last five meetings
-Kohoutova is 5-0 this spring at Nos. 3 and 4, and shares the team's longest active win streak with Martins at five
-Thanks in part to Kohoutova, South Alabama is 6-0 on court 4 and 5-0 on court 6 this spring
-Martins and Pasanen are 3-0 at No. 1 doubles
