Opening Tip
• USA enters play coming of consecutive wins for the first time this season.
• The Jaguars welcome their second Southeastern Conference opponent to the Mitchell Center this season when Auburn visits on Wednesday.
• It's the first time South is playing host to the Tigers since Feb. 17, 1998.
• Both of the Jags' victories in the series came during the 1979-80 season; USA won 70-68 in Mobile on Jan. 25 and by a 66-60 margin in Jacksonville, Fla., on Feb. 23 at the AAIAW Tournament that winter.
• This is the last in a six-game homestand for the Jaguars, their longest stretch at home since playing six contests in a row in Mobile from Jan. 3-20, 1990.

Senior Guard On A Hot Streak
G Shaforia Kines scored 21 points and handed out a season-high-tying five assists last time out in the Jags' win over Tennessee State, marking the second time in the last three contests that the senior has posted 20-plus points.  During that stretch Kines is averaging 21 points per game while recording better than 60-50-90 shooting percentages as she is 19-of-31 (61.3%) from the floor — highlighting by making 10-of-20 tries from three-point range — and 15-of-16 (93.8%) at the charity stripe.  She leads the team thus far this year with six games scoring in double figures, a feat Kines has now accomplished on 45 occasions in her career.

Jones Heating Up
Savannah Jones just missed a double-double with 17 points and a season-high-tying nine rebounds against the Lady Tigers, and she added a career-best four assists along with two blocked shots and a pair of steals.  Over the last three outings, the redshirt junior is shooting 52.2 percent from beyond the three-point arc — connecting on four triples in each game — in posting an average of 16.7 points, while over the last five contests Jones has grabbed no fewer than six rebounds while recording an average of 7.6 boards during that span.  Not only has she scored 10 or more points in each of South's last three games, Jones has now hit double digits in the scoring column 50 times in 77 career appearances since the start of the 2016-17 campaign.

Lowe Looks To Score
After handing out 12 assists in the Jags' first victory of the week, redshirt sophomore Devyn Lowe came back on Saturday and posted 12 points in the TSU after sinking a season-best four three-point field goals.  Not only did that surpass her five-game point total entering play (eight), it was the first time she has scored 10 or more points in a game since finishing with 13 in a win over Texas State on March 13 last season in the second round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

Bench Gives Boost On The Boards
Four substitutes combined to grab 18 rebounds in the victory over the Lady Tigers, more than half the figure recorded by the 13 TSU players who saw action in the contest.  Both Casey Ferguson and Jaylen Mallard fell one shy of equaling their career highs after posting six boards apiece, while Lowe and Kennedi Centers — making her season debut — were credited with three each.  Their efforts helped South finish with 50 rebounds in the game, the first occasion that the team has recorded 50-plus board in back-to-back outings in the same season since the first two Sun Belt Conference games of the 2016-17 campaign vs. Troy (50 on Dec. 31) and at Georgia Southern (51 on Jan. 5).

Additional Notes From The Tennessee St. Game
• It was the first occasion since Jan. 24 and 26 last year — when USA defeated Louisiana (83-60) and ULM (77-49) — that the Jaguars have earned consecutive victories by 20 or more points.
• South connected on more three-point field goals (12) than the Lady Tigers attempted (11).
• The 12 threes were the most the Jags have made thus far this season, although it was the third time in the team's first seven contests that they have reached double digits in the category.
• Antoinette Lewis has now led the Jags in rebounding in all seven contests this season — posting a double-figure total on the boards in five of those outings — after finishing with 10.
• TSU had 15 steals, matching the most credited to a Jaguar opponent in 2019-20, but only managed 16 points off 25 South turnovers.
