NEW ORLEANS – University of South Alabama senior middle blocker Kelley Hartman was named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday.
Hartman recorded 39 kills in two matches last weekend, which totaled eight sets, for an average of 4.88 kills per set, while posting a .430 hitting percentage. She finished with a career-high 29 kills at Georgia State on Friday, in addition to a .551 hitting percentage, and recorded 10 kills and a .233 hitting percentage in Saturday's win at Georgia Southern.
Monday's announcement marked the first time this season a Jaguar has earned Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Hartman leads the Sun Belt in hitting percentage (.404), and ranks eighth in kills per set (3.18). She currently ranks second in career hitting percentage (.306) at South Alabama, fourth in total blocks (331), fifth in block-assists (256), seventh in solo blocks (75), and ninth in kills (897) and blocks per set (0.90).
