THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Richard Moodie
Overall thoughts: "They came here with a plan and it worked very well. The more we kept missing, the more the writing was on the wall. Unfortunately I've been a part of games like this on the losing end, more than the winning end. We had one inside the six-yard box and we put it over the bar. It's just not your day; you have to bounce back now with a big game on Sunday. Coastal Carolina did well, got the win and now they're the team to beat – they're 2-0. They gave us a little too much time on the ball and we got antsy the more the game went on. All credit to them."
On not finding the winning goal: "That's the problem right now. We won a lot of set pieces and usually with set pieces we can get in these games, and that's usually a definitive moment that separates a game like this, and sure enough it was, unfortunately on the other end. We struggled a little bit in front of goal, but the girls are going to work hard. Somebody's going to have to step up sooner rather than later. This is the group we have now, so we need to find that girl that's going to put her neck out there and score. We created a lot of good chances, we just need that moment of quality to finish it off."
On the difference tonight: "When the game's rolling on and they're playing out the back, they want us to press to create space in behind. We were kind of falling into the trap and that's when we looked vulnerable, instead of just dropping off and letting them attack. We were doing everything they wanted us to do. Our back four and Justice did exceptionally well. Could the set piece have been defended differently? Yes, but I'm not going to even look at that moment because we had 26 other moments where the ball could have been in the back of the net
