MOBILE, Ala. – Coming off an 11-2 win on Wednesday night, the University of South Alabama softball team will continue its four-game home stand this weekend with a three-game Sun Belt Conference series against ULM at Jaguar Field.
Because of expected inclement weather in the Mobile area on Saturday the original series scheduled was altered on Thursday. The two clubs will now open the three-game set with a doubleheader on Friday with game times scheduled for 4 and 6 p.m. The series finale is currently set for 1 p.m. on Sunday at Jaguar Field.

SCOUTING THE JAGUARSÂ Â Â
– South Alabama (20-20, 5-9 SBC) comes into the weekend conference series after picking up an 11-2 run-rule win over Southern on Wednesday night.
– Katelyn Gruich had a career night in the win as she was 3-for-4 with a double and a pair of two-run home runs, including one in the sixth to give the Jags the walk-off win. Gruich tied career highs in hits and RBI in the contest, and she scored three times and was hit-by-pitch.
– With the career night, Gruich raised her average to .250 and she now has two home runs and 11 RBI.
– Kaleigh Todd and Kristian Foster also had three hits, while Todd scored twice and tied a career high with three runs driven in.
– The multi-hit game for Todd was her team-high 13th multi-hit game of the season. It was also the 57th of her career tying her with former Jag Brittany Fowler for the program's all-time mark. It also extended her hit streak to a career-best 14 games and her reached base safely streak to 16 games.
– The 14-game hit streak for Todd is the sixth-longest in program history and the longest since former Jags Emily Messer and Haleigh Lane's 15-game streaks back during the 2015 season.
– During her current hit streak, Todd is batting .537 and the senior second baseman has also recorded 10 of her 13 multi-hit outings. She has also scored 14 runs for the Jags and driven in seven during the streak.
– Todd is also nearing career marks in hits and stolen bases. Todd (210) is three hits shy of tying Fowler's (213) program mark for hits and two stolen bases away from tying Evelyne Pare's (69) mark.
– This season, Todd leads the club and is seventh in the Sun Belt with a .378 batting average. Her 22 runs lead the team, while her 48 hits rank are tied with two other players for fourth in the SBC.
– Foster is tied for fifth in the Sun Belt in doubles with nine, while she leads the team in RBI with 23.
– Megan Harris (.306) and Brittani Reid (.305) rank second and third, respectively, in batting for South. B. Reid leads the team with 14 extra-base hits. Her five home runs are the most on the roster and her seven doubles are second-most. B. Reid, Haleigh Lowe and Kamdyn Kvistad each have 17 RBI.
– Devin Brown (12-11) enters play this weekend with a 2.17 earned run average and 150 strikeouts. She has 16 complete games on the year and holds five shutouts – four solo and one combined.
– Brown is second in the league in innings pitched (154.2), strikeouts looking (42) and strikeouts. Her strikeout tally is 31st in the latest NCAA rankings.
SCOUTING THE WARHAWKSÂ Â Â
– ULM (21-15, 8-7 SBC) comes into the weekend series against the Jaguars after falling 8-2 at home to Southeastern Louisiana on Tuesday night.
– Last weekend, the Warhawks took two of three against UTA in Monroe. ULM dropped the series opener, 12-3, but bounced back with a pair of wins (4-2 and 7-6) to close out the series.
– With the series win over the Mavericks, ULM enters the series having won six of its last seven Sun Belt games. The Warhawks currently sit in fifth place and two-and-a-half games in front of South Alabama in the league standings.
– Sydney McKay and Jayden Mount lead to offensive attack for ULM as each are batting .400 or better. McKay currently leads the SBC with a .417 average, while Mount sits in fourth at .400.
– Rochelle Roberts is batting .368 and Hunter Hogan comes in hitting at a .367 clip, both just outside the top 10 of the league. Senior infielder Cheyanne Lyon recently returned to the ULM lineup and she is hitting .372 in her 16 outings.
– As a team, ULM leads the Sun Belt and ranks ninth in the NCAA with a team average of .328. The Warhawks are also seventh nationally in runs scored averaging 6.72 per game.
– Along with hits, runs scored, hit-by-pitch, steals and RBI, ULM also leads the SBC in on-base percentage (.409), which is 13th in the NCAA. Mount (.568) is second in the SBC in that category and eight nationally.
– McKay also leads the conference with 55 hits and is second in 37 runs scored. She has also driven in 28 runs and is 14-for-16 in her stolen base opportunities.
– Roberts (46) and Hogan (44) are seventh and eighth in the Sun Belt in hits, while Mount (40) is just outside the league leaders.
– Mount also has nine doubles and four home runs to go along with her 26 RBI, while she has also walked 18 times and has been hit by pitch 21 times, which is 12 more than the next closest Sun Belt player.
– Hogan has recorded 14 extra-base hits, which includes 10 doubles and three triples, and 25 RBI. Â
– Roberts has been successful in 20 of her 24 stolen base attempts and the Warhawks have 62 steals this season.
– In her limited action, Lyon has recorded three home runs and driven in 19.
– Ana Hogan (.351) also has four home runs and 16 RBI in her 26 games played.
– The ULM pitching staff enters the weekend with a 4.74 ERA.
THE SERIES VS. ULMÂ Â Â
– The series opener between South Alabama and ULM will mark the 39th in the all-time series between the two clubs.
– The Jaguars have controlled the series winning 32 of the previous 38 meetings, including 10 straight coming into the weekend.
– South has also won 26 regular season meetings between the two clubs and nine of the 11 Sun Belt Conference series.
– The Warhawks and the Jags split the two regular-season meetings during the 2015 season and ULM took two of three in Mobile during the 2008 season.
– South Alabama holds a 10-3 advantage in the series in Mobile and has won the last eight meetings at Jaguar Field.
– ULM's last win in the series came on 3/15/15 in game one of the series (8-0, 5 inn.) in Monroe, La. The last win by the Warhawks in Mobile was a 4-2 victory on 4/10/10 in game two of the series.
