THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Terry Fowler
On his thoughts on his team heading into game two of the season: "We continue to shoot the ball well. I'm pleased with the pace that we're playing at. We've got an inside-outside type of game going right now with Antoinette Lewis in the post and our perimeter players who can shoot the ball and score. We had four players finish in double figures the other night against Spring Hill and we feel like we have players who are capable of doing that every game. We need to limit our turnovers and we have to improve our free-throw shooting. We have to get better in those two areas."
On the play of guards Shaforia Kines and Jayla Morrow early on: "With Shaforia and Jayla, we basically have two point guards on the floor at the same time. We value their ball handling and their decision making. They tend to feed off each other and complement each other really well. They need to continue the way that they are playing, especially against the pressure we expect to see out of Southern Miss Wednesday night."
On Southern Miss: "They really get on the offensive boards so we need to control the glass. They have a lot of movement and set plays with motion in their offense, so we need to be able to stop them in the half-court. The biggest thing for us though is to control their transition game."
