-South's defense gave up just 123 yards on 41 rushes, and it allowed opposing quarterbacks to combine to complete 18-of-41 pass attempts.
-It marked the second time in as many scrimmages this fall that the unit did not allow a rushing touchdown.
-Jamarius Way led the offense for the second time in as many scrimmages with three catches for 66 yards, with all three receptions gaining 20 or more yards.
-Tra Minter's first three carries each were for 12 or more yards, with his 23-yard run on his first attempt the team's longest rush of the morning.
-Davis' two touchdown passes came on his first three drives leading the USA offense.
-The lone takeaway of the day by the defense came when Khalil McDonald forced a fumble at the one-yard line after a 19-yard completion, with Bull Barge recovering in the end zone.
-Robinson and Devin Rockette were both credited with a pair of passes broken up.
-The Jaguar defense made 11 stops behind the line of scrimmage, with that total including four sacks.
-Not only were placekickers Gavin Patterson and Frankie Onate a perfect 7-of-7 on field-goal attempts in the scrimmage, both punts covered 50 or more yards as well.
Head coach Joey Jones
On the offense's performance in the scrimmage: "I thought we made a big jump offensively today. We ran the ball better and found out that Tra Minter is a heck of a running back. Our offensive line did much better in their run blocking. Our defensive front kind of got after us today. They had a good pass rush and there were probably a few times that we let things go which would have been a sack, so we need to get better pass protection, but we made a big jump offensively today and if we can run the football we are going to be fine. We've got some receivers who can go up and get the ball and some quarterbacks who can get them the ball."
On where he feels the team is at midway through fall camp: "I told our kids [after the scrimmage] that we've made a lot of improvement; there's no doubt about that. We are just better as a football team, but if [the players] ever take the stance that they've arrived and can't get any better, they aren't going to get better as a player and we aren't going to get better as a team. You are never where you want to be. The best wide receiver of all time, Jerry Rice, always felt that he could get better. That's the attitude we are going to take."
On what he is looking for out of his team as they head into next week's practices: "We have to execute better. We had five false starts on offense and that was a negative today, but we can take care of that for sure. We also had two pass interference calls on defense that we have to take care of, that's the discipline aspect of it. We've got to clean up those types of things and not make the mistakes that can get you beat, but we're going to get there."
Dallas Davis
On the offense having a better day moving the ball: "I felt like the offensive line brought it today. During camp, we've had some linemen with minor injuries and unable to work with us, but they played well today. Our success starts up front with those guys. If they bring it, we have to be sure to bring it as a unit as well, and I feel like we did that today."
On where he feels he is at this point in camp: "I feel like I'm back to normal now if not better. I feel more comfortable with the offense and I feel ready to go."
On where the offense is as a group heading into this final week of fall camp: "As a team, we are nowhere near where we need to be, but we are progressing every day. We aren't taking any steps back, which is good. That's what we have to keep doing in order to win ball games. We have to just keep moving forward."
Harrison Louden
On the offensive line performing better in today's scrimmage: "We came back out there today and cleaned up a lot of mental errors. We had a few false starts, but other than that, we cleaned up our technique and made plays so everything seemed to roll better."
On the offense avoiding turnovers: "It's a big moral boost for us when we can avoid the turnovers. It just makes you hungry to go onto the next play."
On where they are as an offensive line at this point in camp: "As an offensive line, I feel that we are making strides but we have a long way to go, and the same goes for us as an offense as a whole. We made a lot of strides from scrimmage one to scrimmage two, but we have a long ways to go still."
Gus Nave
On his thoughts on the scrimmage today: "Overall, we got better as a group, but our tackling wasn't where it needs to be. We had a couple of missed tackles here and there, but overall we did alright."
On the opportunity to play early at the cornerback position: "The transition [to this level] is going good. The coaches are asking me just make every rep count and my teammates keep pushing me to go harder and do everything the right way."
On being at the halfway of camp and where they are as a unit: "We aren't were we want to be, but we continue to get better every day. We don't take any days off out there on the field."
Darrell Songy
On how he felt the defense preformed in today's scrimmage: "I felt like we did alright today; everybody was running to the ball, but like coach mentioned to us in the huddle, we need to do a better job tackling than we did in the first half of the scrimmage. Our defensive backs need to hold off on the penalties with the two pass interference calls that we got and take care of the deep balls. Other than that I felt like we had a good day."
On where he feels the defense is at near the halfway point of camp: "I feel things are going great for us. Our defensive line is unbelievable. We have a couple of spots to fill out at corner, but I like the way guys are stepping up. As a unit, we have very good team chemistry; we all love each other and want to play for each other."
On the play of Gus Nave: "I like him. He's shown good commitment and the ability to battle through adversity even though there might be times where he gives up a big play. They never seem to get him twice on it. I try to boost him up and he always responds to it positively."
Up next: South will be off each of the next two days, with the next practice scheduled to start at 9 a.m. Monday on campus
