SCOUTING THE JAGUARS    
– South Alabama (19-8, 2-4 SBC) enters play this week after capturing its first Sun Belt Conference series win, defeating Coastal Carolina two out of three in Mobile.
– Kaleigh Todd is coming off a solid four-game stretch this past week as she was 8-for-13 with four runs scored.
– Todd ranks among the Sun Belt leaders in several categories as she is tied-for second in hits (34), third in batting average (.415) and stolen bases (14), tied for sixth in runs scored (23) and seventh in on-base percentage (.489).
– Jaguar right-fielder MC Nichols holds a .438 batting average which is second-best in the SBC.
– Amanda Minahan has provided the power for the Jags this season as she has six of the club's 11 home runs.  Her six home runs are tied for seventh-most in the league and her 20 RBI are tied for 10th.
– Kristian Foster is second on the Jag roster with 14 runs drive in, while Savanna Mayo is right behind her with 12.
– Foster and Haleigh Lowe are each hitting over .300 coming into the week at .333 and .310, respectively.
– South has been strong in the circle all spring.  Coming into Wednesday night's contest at USM, the Jags are second in the league and 21st in the NCAA with a earned run average of 1.77.  USA is also holding opponents to a .207 batting average.
– Junior right-hander Devin Brown is 9-4 this spring and holds a 1.20 ERA, which is second in the SBC and 38th nationally.
– Brown also ranks among both the conference and NCAA leaders in strikeouts and hits allowed.  Brown has 117 strike outs this season and has allowed 55 hits.  
– She has also given up  just 17 total runs and is 35th in the NCAA in strike outs per seven innings (8.8).
– Brown has 11 complete games in her 13 starts and has recorded seven shut outs, which is third-most in the nation.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES    
– Southern Mississippi (13-14, 1-5 CUSA) comes into Wednesday's midweek contest versus the Jags after being swept at home by Louisiana Tech over the weekend.  USM is 4-9 this spring in Hattiesburg.
– USM and USA have played five common opponents - McNeese State, Jacksonville State, Stephen F. Austin, Alabama State and UAB.  The Golden Eagles are 6-5 against those teams, while the Jaguars hold a 4-2 record against them.
– The Eagles are also 2-1 this season against the Sun Belt this spring holding a pair of wins over Louisiana-Lafayette during the opening weekend of the season, but falling  2-0 at Troy on March 15.
– Samantha Reynolds leads the club at the plate as she is hitting .387.   Jade Lewis is also hitting over .300 this season coming in at a .305 clip.  
– Lauren Holifield leads the team with five home runs and 13 RBI, while Bailey Stokes has 12 RBI.
– Kim Crowson (5-4) holds a team-best 1.55 earned run average and has 38 strikeouts this spring.  
– As a staff, Southern Miss holds a 2.46 team ERA, while offensively, the Eagles are hitting .239 and have scored 90 runs.
