MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama football game broadcasts this fall can be heard locally on two different radio outlets and a total of seven FM stations covering over 70 counties, Department of Athletics Director of Broadcasting J.D. Byars announced Friday.
Jaguar football will air locally both on 99.5 The Jag — the broadcasting flagship for USA Athletics — and on 70,000-plus-watt WRKH 96.1 The Rocket in 2016.  Once again, all the action can also be heard nationally for free on the iHeart radio app just by searching "The Jag."
The USA Football Radio Network this fall will also include WBMH 106.1 FM (Grove Hill and Jackson), WFMH 95.5 FM (Hamilton, Jasper, Russellville and Tupelo [Miss.]), WOAB 104.9 FM (Dothan, Enterprise and Ozark), WVRV 101.5 FM (Montgomery and Prattville) and WVRV 97.5 FM (Troy).
Mondays this fall, Byars and JT Crabtree will be broadcasting live from 10-11 a.m. (CT) each week from Academy Sports & Outdoors in West Mobile. Â The two will visit with numerous guests, recap Jags games, preview upcoming opponents and take an in-depth look at the college football landscape. Â The show will also feature weekly prize giveaways.
"The Joey Jones Show" will move to Tuesday at 11 a.m. this season, with the program broadcasting live from Bishop's Grill & Bar on Airport Boulevard in Mobile (formerly Baumhower's Restaurant). Â Byars is set to once again host the show, with phone calls welcome.
The same broadcast team returns for live game-day action in 2016. Â Crabtree will get the day started two hours prior to kickoff outside the stadium with the Coors Light Tailgate Party. Â Byars (play-by-play) and Pat Greenwood (color analyst) will join Crabtree for the second hour of the pregame program with sideline reporter, Tommy Hicks, returning for his second season adding commentary from the field.
