MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama softball hosts Louisiana-Monroe this weekend in a three-game Sun Belt Conference series at Jaguar Field, with a Saturday doubleheader scheduled to precede Sunday's finale.

USA (11-10, 0-2 SBC) snapped a four-game losing streak on Wednesday when the jags defeated Conference USA rival Southern Miss, 5-1, in Hattiesburg. South Alabama outhit the Golden Eagles, 8-4, powered by Kaleigh Todd's 3-for-4 performance. Devin Brown struck out 10 Southern Miss batters, recording her eighth double-digit strikeout effort in 15 appearances this year.
The Jaguars are 4-5 at home this year and are batting .278 as a team entering the weekend. Emily Messer leads the offensive with a .520 batting average, 39 hits, a .627 slugging percentage and .560 on-base percentage.
Brown is 6-6 on the year with a team-low 2.11 ERA, followed closely by Destin Vicknair, who is 5-3 with a 3.34 ERA.
ULM (14-11, 2-1 SBC) is 3-5 on the road and is batting .318, led by Rochelle Roberts and her .538 batting average. Roberts is slugging .888 and boasts a .584 on-base percentage. She is in the top two in all those categories in the SBC and leads the league in runs scored, hits and triples.
Melanie Coyne has thrown the majority of innings for the Warhawks and is 9-8 in the circle with a team-low 3.55 ERA,
ULM clinched its first SBC series two game to one with 9-5 and 6-5 (8 inn.) over Appalachian State in Boone, N.C., last weekend.
