JAG SOFTBALL EAGER TO START FALL SLATE

MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama softball welcomes nine newcomers to a team that finished 40-13 and advanced to its fourth-straight NCAA Regional final last spring, and head coach Becky Clark says the club can't wait to hit the field for fall action this October.

The Jaguars have seven home dates set, including a pair of doubleheaders, all to be played at the again newly-renovated Jaguar Field. After opening last spring with a new press box, grandstand seating and hitting facility, USA resurfaced the playing area in last summer.

USA opens with a pair versus Gulf Coast State College and West Florida on Oct. 2 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, bookending a 5 p.m. first pitch between the visitors.

The Jaguars face Alabama Southern Community College two days later for a 1 p.m. contest.

Northwest Florida State College visits Mobile on Oct. 16 at 6 p.m., and South Alabama takes part in a doubleheader featuring matchups versus Snead State Community College and Spring Hill College the following day beginning at 1 p.m.

On Oct. 24, the Jags host Faulkner State Community College at 2 p.m., before traveling to the University of Mobile the following day for a 6 p.m. tilt, which concludes the season.
