MOBILE, Ala. – No. 22 University of South Alabama softball puts a seven-game Sun Belt Conference win streak on the line this weekend when it travels to Texas-Arlington for a three-game set at Allan Saxe Field this weekend.

USA (24-7, 8-3 SBC) enters the weekend having won eight of its last nine contests, dating back to March 15, the lone loss coming to No. 1 LSU, of the Southeastern Conference, in Baton Rouge on the 24
th. USA has won its last seven Sun Belt Conference matchups after a series-tying win in game two of a doubleheader at Louisiana-Monroe on the 15
th preceded three-game sweeps of Appalachian State and Georgia State over the past two weekends. Included in the aforementioned span is the Jaguars' 9-1, run-rule victory over Conference USA opponent Southern Mississippi in Mobile on the 18
th.

South Alabama is 6-2 in away games this season. USA is batting .307 overall this year with a .457 team slugging percentage and .414 on-base percentage. The Jaguars have outhit their opponents, 249-164, and outscored them, 168-99. USA's pitching staff owns a 2.82 ERA after allowing only 82 earned runs in 203 1/3 innings pitched and has held opponents to a .217 batting average.

After having reached safely in her last 18 contests and hit safely in USA's previous nine games, South Alabama sophomore catcher Chloe Rathburn leads the Jaguars at the plate with a .406 batting average, 39 hits and 33 RBI. Rathburn is also slugging at a team-high .604 clip. With 13 walks to her credit, Rathburn also owns a .478 on-base percentage, which is second to USA junior center fielder Stephanie Pilkington's .504 in the category. Pilkington ranks second on the club in batting average (.367), runs (24) and hits (33). The Lake City, Fla., native has walked 22 times and stolen four bases in as many attempts.

USA freshman right-hander Kalen McGill was credited with all three Jaguar wins over GSU in Atlanta last weekend, including her first career complete-game victory in the series finale. The Gainesville, Fla., native gave up only six runs (all earned) in 15 innings on 17 hits with five strikeouts and only a pair of walks.
South Alabama leads the all-time series with Texas-Arlington, 3-0, after the Jaguars swept the Mavericks in a three-game Sun Belt Conference series on March 22-23, 2014, in Mobile, which marked the programs' initial meeting.

USA won the first two games of the series, 9-0 and 8-0, respectively, both by run rule. Game three went eight innings, with the Jags coming out victorious, 2-1.
