Appalachian State (11-26, 4-14 SBC) took game one of Saturday's doubleheader in extra innings to even the series. South Alabama (24-13, 11-7 SBC) responded with a five-run first inning in the series finale en route to a 10-3 series-clinching win.

Game 1 – Appalachian State 6,  South Alabama 5  (10 inn.)
