MOBILE, Ala. – No. 22 University of South Alabama softball carries a 10-game Sun Belt Conference win streak into the weekend when it hosts Georgia Southern for a three-game league set, with a Saturday doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. set to preceded Sunday's finale, which begins at the same time.

USA's (28-7, 11-3 SBC) conference win streak includes three-game sweeps of Appalachian State, Georgia State and Texas-Arlington over the past three weekends and a series tying game-two win versus Louisiana-Monroe on March 15.

South Alabama has batted .353 during the span, having outhit its opponents, 106-60, and outscored them, 71-32. The Jaguars pitching staff boasts a 2.37 ERA over the last 10 league contests to its opponents' 6.61.

Senior shortstop Kaitlyn Griffith has exploded at the plate during the span and leads the Jaguars at the plate over the last 10 league games with a .419 batting average on with 13 hits and a slugging percentage over one-thousand, helped by seven home runs. Sophomore Chloe Rathburn also has 13 hits and is tied with junior center fielder Stephanie Pilkington with a team-leading 11 RBI in the league streak. Griffith and Pilkington have also scored 11 runs apiece.

Senior first baseman Amanda Herron has 12 hits in SBC play, 10 of them going for extra bases (eight doubles, two home runs), and she's walked five times. Sophomore Amanda Minahan has reached safely in her last 12 games, a team-leading figure, while junior third baseman Emily Messer, who leads the Jags in runs scored this year with 31, has hit safely in her last seven.

Senior right-hander Farish Beard is 4-0 with a 0.50 ERA in five league appearances this year and has struck out 41 to 10 walks and allowed only five runs (two earned) on 13 hits in 28 innings. Freshman Kalen McGill picked up her third save – tied for tops in the league – on Wednesday against Nicholls State and is 12-1 with a 2.19 ERA this season. Classmate Devin Brown is 9-4 with a 3.19 ERA and a team-high 148 strikeouts – second-most in the SBC.

USA is 13-4 at home this year and has won its last six games at Jaguar Field. South Alabama will face Georgia Southern for the first time in program history.

Georgia Southern (12-26, 4-11 SBC) was 35-21 in 2014, 15-6 in the Southern Conference. This season marks the Eagles' first in the Sun Belt.

The Eagles are 12-26 on the year, 4-11 in SBC play. Georgia Southern was swept by Texas State, Louisiana-Lafayette and Louisiana-Monroe, while it took all three from Appalachian State and the series finale versus Texas-Arlington. GS is 6-10 in away games this season.

Sophomore outfielder Taylor Rogers leads the Eagles at the plate with a .343 batting avergae, including a team-high 48 hits. Senior infielder Lexi Allen tops the club with 23 RBI and six home runs. Sophomore Emily Snider leads in runs scored with 24.

Freshman right-hander Kierra Camp is 6-9 in the circle with a 5.46 ERA, while senior Brooke Red owns a team-low 4.14 ERA and is 4-11 on the year with 58 strikeouts.
