NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Sun Belt Conference named University of South Alabama freshman Chloe Rathburn its Player of the Week on Monday for her performances in four Jaguars games last week.
 
After driving in USA's lone run against LSU in Baton Rouge on Wednesday, Rathburn supplied five RBI and scored three runs on 5-for-11 (.455) hitting to power the Jaguars to a series sweep of Western Kentucky in Bowling Green, which locked up a two-seed for the club in the upcoming conference tournament.
 
The Mission Viejo, Calif., native represents USA's sixth weekly league honor in 11 periods after Jaguar counterparts Farish Beard (Feb. 10, March 3 & 10), Blair Johnson (Feb. 24) and Stephanie Pilkington (March 31) received honors throughout the year.
 
Rathburn's seventh-inning two-out RBI double in game one provided USA a come-from-behind 3-2 victory on Saturday, and the designated player lifted a two run bomb in game two that proved the difference in a 6-4 Jaguar win.
 
The Californian put USA up three scores in the finale after driving in two runs in the third inning and later scoring on Sunday, as the Jaguars completed their sweep of the third-place Lady Toppers.
 
Rathburn improved her team-leading RBI tally this year to 30 and raised her slugging percentage to a club-best .511.
