STILLWATER, Okla. – Due to recent heavy rains in the area, No. 14 University of South Alabama softball's Sunday contest versus Oklahoma State has been cancelled.
No make up date will be scheduled. The Jaguars (22-3) finish the weekend 2-0 after defeating New Mexico and the Cowgirls on Saturday by combined scores of 14-1.
USA first defeated New Mexico, 9-0, in five innings behind Farish Beard's one-hitter and seven South Alabama hits, before the club handed the host-Cowgirls a 5-1 loss.
South Alabama will open Sun Belt Conference play next weekend in Mobile, Ala., when it hosts UT-Arlington in a three-game set. A Saturday doubleheader, with game times set for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., precedes a Sunday clash at noon.
